Copenhagen, July 2024 Amalie has supported our family with babysitting activities for our two sons aged 1 and 3 (almost 2 and 4) for the past 5 months. She has quickly built a strong relationship with the kids. She always shows up with a smile on her face and has a great imagination when playing with the kids. Our kids always look forward to the days they get to spend with Amalie either after daycare or on days off. She is very attentive to the needs of the kids, and stays calm and caring if the kids are tired or sad. Amalie has also received very positive feedback from our daycare for her interaction with the kids. She has been very reliable and flexible, and always very responsive to our requests. Amalie was fantastic for our short engagement as tourists in Copenhagen. She knew exactly how to break the ice with our 2 year old to establish trust in minutes. We were very appreciative of a text update after bed time, which we had not requested prior. If we’re back in Copenhagen, we will definitely try to seek Amalie again!

There is no standard hourly rate for childcare services. Rather, each nanny or babysitter’s rate is determined by several factors – including their age and level of experience, the number of kids who need looking after, and how far they need to travel for the job.

Then, you might consider offering a higher rate of pay to keep things fair if you’re asking for any help with things like tutoring or chores around the house - or if you know your kids can be a handful for even the most patient of sitters!
